Series I've been watching on... Tuesdays

Today I will continue with the series I’ve been watching this fall. On Tuesdays new episodes from three different series I follow aired.

First, “The Flash” which second season started this fall and will continue after the Christmas break. “The Flash” follows Barry Allen, who got struck by a lightning and since then is able to move faster than any other human being. He soon will find out that the lightning bolt that gave him his powers was caused by the particulate accelerator that failed, and that also gave super-powers to other human beings, transforming them into meta-humans.  He will fight these meta-humans as the flash.
In the second season when Barry destroyed the murderer of his mother he created a portal that communicates this universe with an alternative one, in which meta-humans also exist. In that universe, there were also two speedsters, one was transported to this universe with no powers, the other, called Zoom, is trying to kill Barry by sending meta-humans from his universe. This season has been interesting, however I haven’t liked it as much as the first one since it lacks of an ultimate goal. In the first one you could see everything was leading towards finding the murderer of Barry’s mother; however in this one is destroying Zoom, from who we do not know anything about other that he is bad. Nonetheless, I think the flash is an amazing series worth watching.

The same thing happens with the second series I’m going to talk about, since it seems to have lost its direction. iZombie is a series that follows Liv, who was a medical residence about to get married turns into a zombie. She changes her life drastically becomes a forensic scientist, with access to human brains without the necessity to kill, and uses the fact that brains give her visions about the human lives to help solve murders. In this season while Liv, continues with her role as police psychic, Mayor has been killing zombies under the owner of Max Rager orders.  As I said, the episodes so far have been more about the cases and less about finding a cure or finding the reason why zombies are zombies. However, I think it is an enjoyable series, funny and easy to follow and I recommend it.

And last but not least we have “Finding Carter”, an MTV series. The series follows Carter a teenage girl whose life turns upside down when she discovers she was kidnaped as a baby and the woman she thinks it is her mother is actually her kidnapper. Then she moves with her real parents who have been looking for her since she disappeared. In this family she has a twin sister and a little brother. However, she doesn’t find easy to stop loving her mother and start loving some strangers, even if she is supposed to. In this second half of the second season Carter has to deal with the fact that she has a new brother and that he lives with Lori. Apart from that a lot of things start changing in her life, starting with the fact that she wants to leave school and start working in a bar.

Finding Carter is a drama series with a lot of twists and turns. I have been enjoying this season as much as the previous ones. It’s a raw series with no taboos, teenagers do what they do in real life, they drink and they go out and it is because of that that I really like it and highly recommend it.

Thanks for reading,

Half Year Wrap Up and July TBR

Hello everyone, as I said on my update and favorites post I’m sorry I’ve been absent lately. Because of that, I’m not going to do a monthly wrap up, but a middle of the year wrap up. I can’t believe we have already hit the middle of the year, but here we are and I’m four books behind in my goodreads challenge, which is more or less like a month. It isn’t much considering how little time I have had to read, as well as many other things, and considering there were two months in which I didn’t finished one book.  We start with January, the best month reading wise I’ve had in years, I completed a total of 8 books in addition to a novella and a graphic novel. Not only that, I also highly enjoyed most books I read during that month  “Captivated by You” by Sylvia Day. The last book published in the Crossfire series, really liked it, and I can’t wait for the next book which I think might be the last. (4/5) “Conociendo a Raul” by Blue Jeans. The novella I read, prequel to “El Club de

The Golden Lily - Richelle Mead

Tittle: The Golden Lilly (Bloodlines #2) Author: Richelle Mead Genre: Fiction, YA, Fantasy, Vampires. Pages: 418 Publisher: Penguin group Format: Digital (Kindle) Time to read it: 6 days Language: English Rating: 5/5 “The Golden Lily” is the second book in the “Bloodlines” series written by Richelle Mead. This is a spin-off series of her previous work “Vampire Academy”. This time the plot centers around Sydney, which we met on the previous series as an alchemist, an “agency” that works on making the vampire world “invisible” to the human kind, and that way they protect humans from evil, vampires. The alchemists tolerate Moroi and Damphir, however they do not engage with them more than what is strictly necessary, they are still evil. Nonetheless, they have a worse evil as common enemy Strigoi. After what happened to Sydney and Adrian, Dimitry and Sonya, former Strigoi turned back into Damphir and Moroi by spirit, came to Palm Springs in order to investigate

Strife - Cate Tiernan

Tittle: Strife Author: Cate Tiernan Genre: Fiction, YA, Romance, fantasy, witches, magik, coming of age. Pages: 188 Publisher: Puffin Format: Digital (Kindle) Time to read it: 5 days Language: English Rating: 4/5 “Strife is the ninth book in the “Wicca/Sweep” series, a series that follows Morgan as she finds out about the existence of magik and her relationship with it. She discovers a new part of her life that threatens with run over everything else. Weird things start happening and the only one that can be blame is Morgan who is uninitiated, since now Ciaran is on the run, and Selene and Cal dead. Hunter brings someone to help her out but her solution to things kinds of goes to extreme. Also, Alisa leaves the coven, since all the things happening scared her off. “Strife” was a good book in the series but it got me lost a little bit. They introduced Alisa’s point of view which kinds of puts me off a little bit and all in all it was a little tedious
