Cursed was the first ARC I get using Net Galley. I am not going to lie; I picked it up because of the cover. It just got my attention as I was searching for a book to read. Then I read the summary and I got really interesting as I was in the mood for some Halloween read. I hadn’t heard about this author before and a cause of that my expectations weren’t really high. Nonetheless, I ended up loving the book.

Adrienne moved to New Orleans, where her sister disappeared five years ago. She wanted to find out a bit more about her sister disappearance, as well as the cursed upon her family. The cursed should have ended with Therese’s death, but somehow she got the mark.
On the other hand, Jayden is tired of his mother’s crazy family. They still believe in voodoo magic, spirits and all that jazz. He, however, is totally skeptical.
Since the moment they meet a strong attraction will appear between them. Although, they are not aware of how deep their connection is.

Cursed was, in my view, an outstanding book. It hooked me from cover to cover. It was captivating, absorbing as well. Its pace was fast; nonetheless slow enough to let you made suppositions about the different mysteries going on. It seems to me that the whole voodoo magic was much more believable than the usual magic were people has powers. It also made the book unique, unless for me. It was the first time I read about voodoo magic, and I loved it. Moreover, there were some creepy also dark parts, which suited the book perfectly.
With the exception of the lack of a proper introduction, I can only said good things about this book. I felt the story started right away without the chance of getting to know well the characters.

To sum up, Cursed was a fantastic book. It was nail biting, fascinating, and overall awesome. I really recommend it, especially if you like fantasy and mystery. I am planning to read something else from this author, as I really loved this book.

Half Year Wrap Up and July TBR

Hello everyone, as I said on my update and favorites post I’m sorry I’ve been absent lately. Because of that, I’m not going to do a monthly wrap up, but a middle of the year wrap up. I can’t believe we have already hit the middle of the year, but here we are and I’m four books behind in my goodreads challenge, which is more or less like a month. It isn’t much considering how little time I have had to read, as well as many other things, and considering there were two months in which I didn’t finished one book.  We start with January, the best month reading wise I’ve had in years, I completed a total of 8 books in addition to a novella and a graphic novel. Not only that, I also highly enjoyed most books I read during that month  “Captivated by You” by Sylvia Day. The last book published in the Crossfire series, really liked it, and I can’t wait for the next book which I think might be the last. (4/5) “Conociendo a Raul” by Blue Jeans. The novella I read, prequel to “El Club de

Tittle: Strife Author: Cate Tiernan Genre: Fiction, YA, Romance, fantasy, witches, magik, coming of age. Pages: 188 Publisher: Puffin Format: Digital (Kindle) Time to read it: 5 days Language: English Rating: 4/5 “Strife is the ninth book in the “Wicca/Sweep” series, a series that follows Morgan as she finds out about the existence of magik and her relationship with it. She discovers a new part of her life that threatens with run over everything else. Weird things start happening and the only one that can be blame is Morgan who is uninitiated, since now Ciaran is on the run, and Selene and Cal dead. Hunter brings someone to help her out but her solution to things kinds of goes to extreme. Also, Alisa leaves the coven, since all the things happening scared her off. “Strife” was a good book in the series but it got me lost a little bit. They introduced Alisa’s point of view which kinds of puts me off a little bit and all in all it was a little tedious
