Ruin and Rising is the last book in the Grisha trilogy written by Leigh Bardugo.  The series is set in a world in which exists another race of human beings called “Grisha”. This people have different “magical” powers.

Alina is the sun summoner and because of that reason she is the only one that would be able to overpower the Darkling and return Ravka to be a peaceful country. After escaping the darkling attack to the little palace Alina, Mal and their friends are hiding on the apparat’s hiding underground. That makes Alina weak since she is unable to contact the sunlight. She still has contact with the Darkling but now is she who controls those encounters.
She has to get out of there and look for the third amplifier and then destroy once and for all the Darkling. However what she does not expect is to find it where it really is.

Ruin and Rising was a good ending to an interesting series. However, as it happened to me with all the books of the series, I founded difficult to get into the book. The series is a little too high-fantasy for me and there were too many different kind of Grisha and too many names, in addition to the strange names of the different regions.
Nonetheless, this one was much better than the second one since there was more action from the beginning to the end. I was not expecting the end and that was something positive to take into account.

To sum up, I think the Grisha trilogy is a good series, probably not for everyone but interesting nonetheless. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a high-fantasy series without being too much.

October Wrap Up - November TBR

Hello again everyone, Today starts a new month and that means that it is time to wrap up the previous month and set this month's TBR. Last month I set an ambitious TBR which I was unable to complete entirely, but I did manage to get a lot read which makes me kind of happy. As I also said on the previous month's post I was going to center this past month's TBR on the "Sweep/ Wicca" series by Cate Tiernan, and that is what I did. I managed to finish the sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, and get thought half of the eleventh. I have enjoyed most of this books, however the last two, Seeker and Origins, change the point of view and I have not been able to click with them as I was able to so with the other ones. As for the November TBR, I want to still finish this series, reading the twelfth, thirteenth, fourteenth and sixteenth books in the series, Eclipse, Reckoning, Full Circle and Night Child. Appart from that, I want to keep finishing s...

“Rubinrot” is the title of the movie adaptation from the book Ruby Red, which was released in 2013.   The movie has been translated to different languages including English as well as Spanish. The sequel was released in 2014, and the last in the series is expected to be released in 2016. As the book the movie follows Gwendolyn Shepperd, a regular 16-year-old girl who is tired of her family secrets. She will discover them all the moment she discover she carries a rare gene which allows her to travel back in time. Everyone was expecting her cousin to inherit the gene; however, she was the lucky one. She will have to face the order of the count of St. Germain, who have the mission to complete the chronograph, an instrument which allow the travelers to choose the date to which they will travel. The movie was actually an entertaining and fun movie, which I enjoyed a lot. It really transmitted the mysterious feeling of the books, giving it a fun tone, which I enjoyed. I think ...
