“Point of retreat” is the second book in the “Slammed” series by Colleen Hoover , a well-known author for her contemporary romance books.

Everything is going smoothly, a new year is about to start and Lake and Will are working things out taking care of their brothers and being happy together. However, life cannot be that easy specially when their brothers seem to be unable to be away from trouble, and when someone Will was not expecting came back into his life.

“Point of Retreat” was a terrific compelling contemporary book. I really liked the originality of it being told from the boy’s point of view, which is not something that happens a lot in contemporary romance. I think the point of view was not only original but realistic, since sometimes when a woman try to write from a men’s perspective it sounds too unnatural. Apart from that I think the author did a fantastic job keeping the reader on the edge, making the story take a turn I was not expecting.
The characters are a really important part of these books and Colleen Hoover made you believe in them and you really are able to get to know them through the story.

To sum up, I think “Point of retreat” was a book worth reading and an amazing nail-biting love story which made me really want to read more Colleen Hoover books.

The time period is also one of the most used in historical fiction as it was one of the most mysterious and contrasting time periods on the history. Audrey Rose is a really special lady, her interests on modem science and especially in forensic medicine do not mix well with what people expect from a fine lady. However, she cannot help her curiosity, especially when women start being murdered in a really hideous way. October Wrap Up - November TBR

Hello again everyone, Today starts a new month and that means that it is time to wrap up the previous month and set this month's TBR. Last month I set an ambitious TBR which I was unable to complete entirely, but I did manage to get a lot read which makes me kind of happy. As I also said on the previous month's post I was going to center this past month's TBR on the "Sweep/ Wicca" series by Cate Tiernan, and that is what I did. I managed to finish the sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, and get thought half of the eleventh. I have enjoyed most of this books, however the last two, Seeker and Origins, change the point of view and I have not been able to click with them as I was able to so with the other ones. As for the November TBR, I want to still finish this series, reading the twelfth, thirteenth, fourteenth and sixteenth books in the series, Eclipse, Reckoning, Full Circle and Night Child. Appart from that, I want to keep finishing s...
