“Point of retreat”
is the second book in the “Slammed” series by Colleen Hoover , a well-known
author for her contemporary romance books.
Everything is going
smoothly, a new year is about to start and Lake and Will are working things out
taking care of their brothers and being happy together. However, life cannot be
that easy specially when their brothers seem to be unable to be away from
trouble, and when someone Will was not expecting came back into his life.
“Point of Retreat”
was a terrific compelling contemporary book. I really liked the originality of
it being told from the boy’s point of view, which is not something that happens
a lot in contemporary romance. I think the point of view was not only original
but realistic, since sometimes when a woman try to write from a men’s
perspective it sounds too unnatural. Apart from that I think the author did a
fantastic job keeping the reader on the edge, making the story take a turn I
was not expecting.
The characters are a
really important part of these books and Colleen Hoover made you believe in
them and you really are able to get to know them through the story.
To sum up, I think
“Point of retreat” was a book worth reading and an amazing nail-biting love
story which made me really want to read more Colleen Hoover books.
