July Wrap Up and August TBR

A new month starts today and that means that it is time for take a look into what I have read last month and revealing what I am planning for the month ahead.
July ended up being a good month, since I almost met my TBR even if I would have not bet on it when the 15th arrived.
I started the month not really well by reading Opal. It took me a long time to finish this book, and it bothered me since I really liked the previous books in the series. I found the book repetitive and dull at times. I will continue with the Lux series; however my opinion of it has gone down. I gave this book a three star rating.
Then I moved to “The last Olympian” which was a really good ending for a terrific series. I have to say that as I went through the series my love for it was increasing. I think the first book was the least of my favorite because I was not able to connect with the characters; probably the age difference and the fact that world had to be introduced put me down. Nonetheless, as the characters grow up and go from children to teenagers I was able to connect more with them and the adventures they were going through. I gave this last book a five out of five because even being and ending it left me wanting more about the world.

After finishing the last Percy Jackson Book I moved to the next book in which has become a classic in my reading this year, the “PSY/ Changeling” series by Nalini Singh, “Heart of Obsidian”. This one was a fine book, not the best in the series but after the not-so-good previous book “Tangle of need”, this one went better. I gave it a four start rating.

Then I moved to the romance pics for this month, the second and third book in the “Slammed” series by Colleen Hoover. I really liked the first book in this series when I read it a long time ago. I was not disappointed by its sequel “Point of Retreat” I founded really compelling and exciting. However the one was somehow like an addition to the series which was not necessary, and in my opinion quite tedious. I gave “Point of Retreat” a five out of five, while “This girl” a three out of five, being quite generous.

I started “Changeless” by Gail Carriger, the second book in the “Parasol protectorate” series, a couple of days ago and I have not been able to finish it yet. Therefore, this would be my first book in the ambitious August TBR.

Then I want to continue with the “PSY/Changeling” series by Nalini Singh reading the 13th book in the series, “Shield of winter”. Talking about long unfinished series I want to make some progress into the “Pretty Little Liars” series by Sarah Shepard reading the 8th book in the series, “Wanted”.  Continue with series I want to read the next book in the “Lux” series by Jennifer L. Armentrout, “Origin”, which is the 4th one.

Apart from that I want to read a couple summery reads; therefore I choose “Second chance summer” by Morgan Matson and “The truth about forever” by Sarah Dessen.

If I am able to finish this entire list and still have some days left I will aim for the third book in the “Parasol protectorate” series by Gail Carriger, “Blameless”.
Thanks for reading,
