In the perfect island of Jar Island three girls find each other as best friends since they share the same goal, revenge. To be able to complete their goal the best secret they must keep is their friendship. However, no one is perfect, everyone has something to hide even them.

Mary gets back to Jar Island after leaving years ago, after changing her appearance and her self she is looking for revenge on the reason she and her parents had to leave the island, Reeve. Lillia is miss perfect and reigns high school next to her best friend Rennie, however one night in summer everything changes, she cannot trust Rennie as much anymore and her other best friend Alex Lind seems to be getting into something with her little sister Nadia, Rennie’s wannabe.
Kat used to be friends with Rennie and Lillia, however Rennie decided to stop talking to her after her mum died of cancer, and made her life hell at high school. And that is when they find each other, all three of them with a person in their minds, all three of them willing to help the others to get revenge themselves.

The “Burn for burn” trilogy was a compelling read, however one of their twists the trilogy gives in the second book throw me out a little bit. I liked the concept and how as the trilogy progressed the plot became more twist and complicated. I liked how feelings get everything complicated since I think that is one of the things that makes things complicated in real life.
None the less, as I said before the fantasy turn it toke by the second book it was in my opinion kind of unnecessary, and even though I saw I coming I was hoping until it gets revealed that the authors would have not picked that turn.

With all that being said, I recommend the trilogy just go into it knowing that it has some fantasy elements to it, and that it is not a complete contemporary novel.
