“Paper Princess” is the first book in “The Royals” series written by Erin Watt.

Ella has been living on her own since her mother died. She did not have anyone else and when she died she decided to stay by herself. She uses her dead mothers ID to work as a stripper, which was her mother’s job. She makes roughly enough money to survive but she is pleased with her life.
However, everything changes when she is called to the principal’s office and in there is waiting for her Callum Royal. The man wearing fancy clothes was really close to her father, from which she has never heard anything from. And now, since he is apparently also dead, Callum Royal will be his guardian. Her first instinct is to run away, however she does not get far before Callum finds her and drags her to his fancy house, where his five sons are no near pleased with her presence.

“Paper Princess” was a really compelling book, I read it from cover to cover on one sitting cause I was not able to put it down. I was captured almost immediately by the plot twists and how fast the story moved forward. There are a lot of things happening at the same time in this book and you don’t know what is going to come next. I love that the author kept me wondering what was going to happen and making me feel all the emotions in this book.
I have to say it is not the kind of book you go into looking for the best book of your life, it is a contemporary romance, a chick-lit, however it lived up to my expectations since I was hoping for a book that would drag me out of my reading slump.
I thing I really liked though is that despite the drama and the unrealistic of the situation, the book seemed realistic and part of it was thanks to the use of the language in the dialogues, even the intern monologues were not censured and closer to nowadays use of language around teenagers.

To conclude, this was a fantastic book and I would compare it to a really compelling soap-opera one of those in which every dramatic thing that can happen will happen but you still cannot keep yourself from watching. Therefore, I would recommend the book to anyone wanting to read and be capture by a contemporary book.

Half Year Wrap Up and July TBR

Hello everyone, as I said on my update and favorites post I’m sorry I’ve been absent lately. Because of that, I’m not going to do a monthly wrap up, but a middle of the year wrap up. I can’t believe we have already hit the middle of the year, but here we are and I’m four books behind in my goodreads challenge, which is more or less like a month. It isn’t much considering how little time I have had to read, as well as many other things, and considering there were two months in which I didn’t finished one book.  We start with January, the best month reading wise I’ve had in years, I completed a total of 8 books in addition to a novella and a graphic novel. Not only that, I also highly enjoyed most books I read during that month  “Captivated by You” by Sylvia Day. The last book published in the Crossfire series, really liked it, and I can’t wait for the next book which I think might be the last. (4/5) “Conociendo a Raul” by Blue Jeans. The novella I read, prequel to “El...
