2015 in review & 2016 bookish goals

It’s January and with the new year comes the time of setting new goals, but first lets take a look into 2015, what were the best books I read in 2015 and what I have accomplished from my 2015 resolutions.

1.   “El club de los incomprendidos” by Blue Jeans. This Spanish series might be one of the best series I read in 2015. It is an enjoyable contemporary series that takes in Madrid. I think it is a shame it hasn’t been translated to a lot of languages yet.

2.   Mr. Kiss and tell by Rob Thomas. The second book in the Veronica Mars series was amazing as expected. What can I say I was in love with the TV series and I cannot help but loving anything that has to do with this young private eye.

3.   The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. This year I finished this series and discovered why is everyone obsessed with it. You must read it if you have not yet.

4.   If I stay by Gayle Forman. Really amazing contemporary, which left me in shock. It was incredible and not comparable to anything I have read before.

5.   Unmade by Sarah Rees Brenan. This was the last book to a really good and interesting series, “The Lynburn legacy”. However this last book was outstanding.

6.   Ignite me by Tahereh Mafi. Another outstanding ending to a series. I was not a fan of the first book in the series but the second book convinced me, and this last one blow me out.

7.   “The One” by Kiera Cass. And jet another amazing ending to a series which was not amazing but ended just the way it should; even if there was an spin off series I liked.

8.   End of days by Susan Ee. This was the last book in the “Penryn and the end of days” series, a series I just started because the first book in the series was really cheap, but a series I fell in love with.

9.   “Dash and Lilly’s book of dares” by Rachel Con and David Leviathan. This was my last read of 2015 and it was everything I was expecting it to be.

10. “Precious stones” trilogy by Kerstin Gier. I re-read this series this year and remembered why did I love it so much. I was a really special amazing series.

Now lets talk about my bookish 2015 goals and how did they went. My fist goal was to read 50 books, which I accomplished by reading 51 books.
My second goal was to read one “classic” middle age book each month, which sadly did not happen. I also wanted to finish some series, and I did manage to finish a total of 13 series, however I still have started series I want to end. And last I wanted to finish the POP sugar reading challenge, which I completely forgot about.

Now for 2016 I am setting my reading challenge in sixty books, since I did well with fifty last year.
My second goal would be to read at least 10 out of the Paper and Glam book club, since most of the books will put me out of my comfort zone reading wise.
And I am just going to set another goal, and it is to read the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan, since I have never got around to do so when I was I child.

Half Year Wrap Up and July TBR

Hello everyone, as I said on my update and favorites post I’m sorry I’ve been absent lately. Because of that, I’m not going to do a monthly wrap up, but a middle of the year wrap up. I can’t believe we have already hit the middle of the year, but here we are and I’m four books behind in my goodreads challenge, which is more or less like a month. It isn’t much considering how little time I have had to read, as well as many other things, and considering there were two months in which I didn’t finished one book.  We start with January, the best month reading wise I’ve had in years, I completed a total of 8 books in addition to a novella and a graphic novel. Not only that, I also highly enjoyed most books I read during that month  “Captivated by You” by Sylvia Day. The last book published in the Crossfire series, really liked it, and I can’t wait for the next book which I think might be the last. (4/5) “Conociendo a Raul” by Blue Jeans. The novella I read, prequel to “El Club de

The Golden Lily - Richelle Mead

Tittle: The Golden Lilly (Bloodlines #2) Author: Richelle Mead Genre: Fiction, YA, Fantasy, Vampires. Pages: 418 Publisher: Penguin group Format: Digital (Kindle) Time to read it: 6 days Language: English Rating: 5/5 “The Golden Lily” is the second book in the “Bloodlines” series written by Richelle Mead. This is a spin-off series of her previous work “Vampire Academy”. This time the plot centers around Sydney, which we met on the previous series as an alchemist, an “agency” that works on making the vampire world “invisible” to the human kind, and that way they protect humans from evil, vampires. The alchemists tolerate Moroi and Damphir, however they do not engage with them more than what is strictly necessary, they are still evil. Nonetheless, they have a worse evil as common enemy Strigoi. After what happened to Sydney and Adrian, Dimitry and Sonya, former Strigoi turned back into Damphir and Moroi by spirit, came to Palm Springs in order to investigate

Strife - Cate Tiernan

Tittle: Strife Author: Cate Tiernan Genre: Fiction, YA, Romance, fantasy, witches, magik, coming of age. Pages: 188 Publisher: Puffin Format: Digital (Kindle) Time to read it: 5 days Language: English Rating: 4/5 “Strife is the ninth book in the “Wicca/Sweep” series, a series that follows Morgan as she finds out about the existence of magik and her relationship with it. She discovers a new part of her life that threatens with run over everything else. Weird things start happening and the only one that can be blame is Morgan who is uninitiated, since now Ciaran is on the run, and Selene and Cal dead. Hunter brings someone to help her out but her solution to things kinds of goes to extreme. Also, Alisa leaves the coven, since all the things happening scared her off. “Strife” was a good book in the series but it got me lost a little bit. They introduced Alisa’s point of view which kinds of puts me off a little bit and all in all it was a little tedious
