“Hostage to Pleasure” is the fifth book in the PSI/Changeling series written by Nalini Singh. As you may know I have been really into this series for the last couple of months, and I’m changeling myself to finish this series by the end of the year. This might be a hard challenge since the number of books in this series seems endless.

“Hostage to Pleasure” was as the previous books in the series a really good book. It is true that the series might be a little repetitive since each book develops a new romance between an odd couple with an extremely attraction to each other. However, apart from this a complex, political and mysterious plot develops in each book, little by little. This series has a lot of different genres and I think that’s the thing that makes it really original. It is a supernatural series since there are changelings on it, humans with an inner animal that can transform into that animal. It is also science fiction because there is PSI another species which have a really developed brain with abilities like telepathy or empathy. And surrounded this species there is a government that has everyone fooled since what they want is to be in control of everything, like in a dystopia. As I said every book is center in a love story, so it has romance. However, this romance is not YA it is adult romance with sex and vivid scenes. All of this makes this amazing series interesting, and captivating.

Dorian is one of the most lethal sentinels of the Dark Rivers. His inner animal has been prisoner in his human body his whole life, but that has made him fight harder and being better.  Ashaya Aleine helped two kids to escape the laboratory in which she was also trapped. That made the Dark River to be in debt with her and they will pay that debt. When she manages to escape the laboratory Dorian finds her in the woods and the pack decided to keep her safe until they find out more about her and what the council is plotting. Dorian will start to feel something for this PSI woman despite the fact she is one of the kind that killed his sister.

To sum up, another great book in the fantastic series.

This is a spin-off series of her previous work “Vampire Academy”. This time the plot centers around Sydney, which we met on the previous series as an alchemist, an “agency” that works on making the vampire world “invisible” to the human kind, and that way they protect humans from evil, vampires. The alchemists tolerate Moroi and Damphir, however they do not engage with them more than what is strictly necessary, they are still evil. Nonetheless, they have a worse evil as common enemy Strigoi. After what happened to Sydney and Adrian, Dimitry and Sonya, former Strigoi turned back into Damphir and Moroi by spirit, came to Palm Springs in order to investigate

Half Year Wrap Up and July TBR

Hello everyone, as I said on my update and favorites post I’m sorry I’ve been absent lately. Because of that, I’m not going to do a monthly wrap up, but a middle of the year wrap up. I can’t believe we have already hit the middle of the year, but here we are and I’m four books behind in my goodreads challenge, which is more or less like a month. It isn’t much considering how little time I have had to read, as well as many other things, and considering there were two months in which I didn’t finished one book.  We start with January, the best month reading wise I’ve had in years, I completed a total of 8 books in addition to a novella and a graphic novel. Not only that, I also highly enjoyed most books I read during that month  “Captivated by You” by Sylvia Day. The last book published in the Crossfire series, really liked it, and I can’t wait for the next book which I think might be the last. (4/5) “Conociendo a Raul” by Blue Jeans. The novella I read, prequel to “El Club de
