“Cruel Beauty” is a “Beauty and the beast” fairy tale retelling with a mythology twist to it.

It has come the day in which Nyx will finally meet her destiny and marry the prince of demons, who rules the kingdom. That has been her fate since she was born. Her father made a deal with the prince in order to have children but every deal has a price and his was her wife who died after giving birth to two baby girls. Her father chose her to be the one marring the prince and for that she has always hated him and her sister. Apart from that, she should not only marry him but kill him, a powerful prince of demons. However, she will find really difficult to do so, since the prince is not as everyone sees him.

“Cruel Beauty” was a fantastic fairy tale retailing. I loved how mythology was included into the story everyone knows. Also I loved the twist about her family not being as happy as in the original tale. The castle and all the things inside it were really creative and well described. I also liked how the characters develop through the book, and not only the main characters but also other characters like Nyx sister.

I really recommend the book to everyone who likes mythology and fantasy. I think it was a really compelling and interesting book that was even better than what I was expecting.

October Wrap Up - November TBR

Hello again everyone, Today starts a new month and that means that it is time to wrap up the previous month and set this month's TBR. Last month I set an ambitious TBR which I was unable to complete entirely, but I did manage to get a lot read which makes me kind of happy. As I also said on the previous month's post I was going to center this past month's TBR on the "Sweep/ Wicca" series by Cate Tiernan, and that is what I did. I managed to finish the sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, and get thought half of the eleventh. I have enjoyed most of this books, however the last two, Seeker and Origins, change the point of view and I have not been able to click with them as I was able to so with the other ones. As for the November TBR, I want to still finish this series, reading the twelfth, thirteenth, fourteenth and sixteenth books in the series, Eclipse, Reckoning, Full Circle and Night Child. Appart from that, I want to keep finishing s...
