October WrapUp and November TBR

October it’s over and that means it is time to do my monthly TBR. This month I managed to complete five books and start another one. However I did not meet my TBR for this month, which was mainly because I was not feeling the books I chose at all.

The first book I read was the only one that was on my original TBR, “Beautiful Darkness”. This book could be considered guilty of my lack of interest in the TBR I have planned in the first place. I was really hard for me to get into this book, and I had to push myself to finish it, as I felt no desire of reading it. I was a disappointing read and I thought it was repetitive and quite childish. I seriously think about not continuing with the series, and that’s a thing I do not like to do.

After reading this I tried to start the next book in the series but I was not in the mood so I decided to read a book which was in my previous month TBR and did not managed to get to: “The One” by Kiera Cass. This was the last book in the original trilogy “The Selection” before the author decided to keep going with the series and published “The Heir”. This book was actually kind of refreshing at the time and I really enjoyed it. I think it was a perfect conclusion to a really entertaining series.

Then I came across “Rubinroth” the film which was based on the Rubi Red series. I read these books a long time ago since they were published in Spanish before they were on English. I remember I highly enjoyed them and I decided to give them a re-read before watching the movie. I started with the first one and I ended up reading the whole trilogy. This series is really unique and interesting. I have not read anything like this in YA, the topic of time traveling is not one of the most used in the genre and because of that alone this series is really unique.

After this series I was not in the mood to start a dark read so I started the last book published in “The Selection” series, “The Heir”. I just managed to read a 15% of the book before the month finished, but I plan to finish it in the next few days.

Now for my TBR for this month, as I said I am planning to finish “The Heir” in the next few days. Then I would like to finish “Penryn and the end of days” trilogy by reading the last book in the series.

I also would like to read a stand-alone I found really cheap in a bookstore this month and seemed interesting. The book is called “A temptation of Angels” by Michelle Zink. I also would like to read this book to see if I like this author writing style, since I have always wanted to give her “Prophecy of the sisters” trilogy a try.
In addition to that I want to give “Mockinjay” a re-read before watching the last movie, which is released this month.

And last but not least I want to finish the “Grisha” trilogy which I started last year.

Thanks for reading,
