“The
Elite” id the second book in “The Selection” series written by Kiera Cass. I
read the first one in the series years ago and I really liked it, however I did
not continued with the series. This year in my aim on finishing series I wanted
to continue and hopefully finish the original series before the year ends.
Additionally to this trilogy this year, a new book was published titled “The
Heir”
America
made it through the fist phase of the selection. She is now part of the elite
and the competition has became harder, each one of the candidates is suitable
for several reasons, nonetheless America knows she is there just because prince
Maxon wants her there. However, with Aspen there her feelings are not clear and
the time Maxon was giving her is coming to an end. America has to learn what
that it means to be royal and if she would be able to live as one, because if
Maxon chooses her there is not turn back.
“The
Elite” was a really good book. It was entertaining and fast paced. I founded a
little hard to get into the story, since there was a long time since I have
read the previous one. Once I got into the book I really enjoyed it. The plot
was interesting and it had several turns that made the book intriguing at some
points. The characters however are not the best part of the book. America is
too indecisive and fool of herself. Aspen do not know hoe to take a step
backwards and left America alone living her life. And Maxon is a confusing
character sometimes, which is not a particularly bad thing but is not a good
thing either.
Nevertheless
I must say I highly enjoy these books they are like a reality show mixed with
fairytales, and that just made them really interesting
To sum
up, I really think that anyone who enjoyed fairytales as a kid and miss them
would like these series.
