Ruby Red book to movie adaptation

“Rubinrot” is the title of the movie adaptation from the book Ruby Red, which was released in 2013.  The movie has been translated to different languages including English as well as Spanish. The sequel was released in 2014, and the last in the series is expected to be released in 2016.
As the book the movie follows Gwendolyn Shepperd, a regular 16-year-old girl who is tired of her family secrets. She will discover them all the moment she discover she carries a rare gene which allows her to travel back in time. Everyone was expecting her cousin to inherit the gene; however, she was the lucky one. She will have to face the order of the count of St. Germain, who have the mission to complete the chronograph, an instrument which allow the travelers to choose the date to which they will travel.
The movie was actually an entertaining and fun movie, which I enjoyed a lot. It really transmitted the mysterious feeling of the books, giving it a fun tone, which I enjoyed. I think one of the strongest points of the movie is actually the setting as well as the costumes, especially the ones used in the scenes supposed to be in the past. In addition to that the main characters did recall the ones from the books. However, talking about the books, there were several differences between the book and the movie, starting with the fact that in the books the main character Gwendolyn knows about the time traveling, she is not aware she is the one carrying the gene but she knows Charlotte has it. In addition to that in the books Gideon wasn’t that close to Charlotte, when in the movie it appeared as they were a couple.

Therefore, apart from those points all based on the fact that it is supposed to be a movie adaptation, the movie is worth watching. It is interesting, and really entertaining.

October Wrap Up - November TBR

Hello again everyone, Today starts a new month and that means that it is time to wrap up the previous month and set this month's TBR. Last month I set an ambitious TBR which I was unable to complete entirely, but I did manage to get a lot read which makes me kind of happy. As I also said on the previous month's post I was going to center this past month's TBR on the "Sweep/ Wicca" series by Cate Tiernan, and that is what I did. I managed to finish the sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, and get thought half of the eleventh. I have enjoyed most of this books, however the last two, Seeker and Origins, change the point of view and I have not been able to click with them as I was able to so with the other ones. As for the November TBR, I want to still finish this series, reading the twelfth, thirteenth, fourteenth and sixteenth books in the series, Eclipse, Reckoning, Full Circle and Night Child. Appart from that, I want to keep finishing s...
