“Clockwork Angel” is the first book in the trilogy “The infernal devices” written by Cassandra Clare. The book takes place in the Shadowhunter world, in London, nevertheless years before “The Mortal Instruments” series by the same author.
Tessa arrived in London from New York after her aunt death. She is looking forward to reunite with her brother who has been working there. However, when she arrived a strange looking man was waiting for her; he told her he had been sent by her brother, therefore she stepped into the carriage where there were two women. Her brother has been kidnapped and in other for him not to be killed she had to learn how to use an ability, she didn’t even knew she had.
After being trapped there for months a group of people appears at the dark house, kill one of the dark sisters, the women that had been keeping her prisoner, and take her with them. She wakes up at the institute, the headquarters of the shadowhunters, the people who rescued her, a race half human half angel that protects humanity from the subterranean world. They told her she was kind of a witch. They were looking for the person behind her kidnap, and asked for her help, she accepted in order to get their help rescuing her brother. Meanwhile, she will become friends with Will and Jem, two shadowhunters, as well as, Sophie a servant with the ability to watch pass the shadowhunter’s glamour.
Clockwork Prince was a nail-biting reading experience. It was a really good book that I enjoyed from cover to cover. I think the eerie Victorian London captivated me the most, the automatons, the steampunk element made the shadowhunter world darker and more mysterious.  I personally did saw the difference in the way the characters behave from our times; making the book more realistic, time wise. Continuing with the Characters I liked that they each had a different personality and even though they reminded me a bit of the mortal instruments characters, they were different. What I didn’t liked that much was the fact that Will seemed to have feelings for Tessa like instantly without knowing her really, while Tessa seemed attracted to him but liked him as the book progresses.
In my opinion the most interesting thing about the plot was the way the magic from the shadowhunters is mixed with the mechanics and the technology of the time. The fact that humans can be as dangerous as demons or vampires makes an interesting turn in the way the shadowhunter world should work. However, I saw the big twist coming, I founded pretty predictable even if I really liked how it was developed.

To sum up, I really would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a different turn in typical plot of angels against demons, especially the ones looking for a darker eerie version of it.

Half Year Wrap Up and July TBR

Hello everyone, as I said on my update and favorites post I’m sorry I’ve been absent lately. Because of that, I’m not going to do a monthly wrap up, but a middle of the year wrap up. I can’t believe we have already hit the middle of the year, but here we are and I’m four books behind in my goodreads challenge, which is more or less like a month. It isn’t much considering how little time I have had to read, as well as many other things, and considering there were two months in which I didn’t finished one book.  We start with January, the best month reading wise I’ve had in years, I completed a total of 8 books in addition to a novella and a graphic novel. Not only that, I also highly enjoyed most books I read during that month  “Captivated by You” by Sylvia Day. The last book published in the Crossfire series, really liked it, and I can’t wait for the next book which I think might be the last. (4/5) “Conociendo a Raul” by Blue Jeans. The novella I read, prequel to “El Club de
