“If I Stay” is a book written by
Gayle Forman. The book, often mentioned in the book community, was all over the
hype last year when its movie adaptation hit the theaters.
Mia
and her family had a terrible car accident, her parents were dead almost
instantly, and she didn´t know what happened to her little brother. She was
taken to hospital and put on the ICU. Her parents, family and friends visit her
and she sees everything from outside of her body. Now she has to decide if she
stays or leave to the uncertain place her parents leave.
“If
I Stay” was a phenomenal book. If you read the plot it might seem like a
supernatural ghost story but it isn’t, I will even consider it realistic
fiction, since it felt more like what a person about to die will feel if that
person would be able to see what the people she loves is going though. I think
it was a heartbreaking book, a page turner that I read from cover to cover. In
my opinion, it’s one of those books that make you think about your life, the
people that surround you, and the people you love. “If I Stay” made me remember
moments of my life I thought I didn’t, and it made me feel grateful for what I
have.
In
conclusion, I think “If I Stay” it’s a fantastic book that puts you into
perspective.
