“The sea ofMonsters” is the second book in the “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” serieswritten by Rick Riordan. These children’s books are considered classics in theUS; however here in Spain they did not became popular until the first “PercyJackson” movie was released. I decided this year to complete this series sincefor many people in the “bookish” community this series is, as I mention, aclassic.
After the summer incamp half-blood Percy returned to his “normal” life in NYC with his mother. However, he was not able to keep the monsters out of his life and got forced toreturn to the camp, despite his mother’s advice. However, when he gets to camphalf-blood he sees why his mother did not want him to go. The camp is not safeanymore, Talia’s tree, the one who protects the camp from the monsters, hasbeen poisoned; and now all campers are in danger fighting every monster thatfinds its way in. A quest is proposed by the new director of the camp,Tantalus. Clarisse, Ares’ daughter must go to the sea of monsters to the islandof Polycemus and bring the gold fleece to the camp in order to heal Talia’stree. Nonetheless, Percy has a connection with Grover who somehow ended up inthe same island and that will make him, Annabeth and his new “friend”, ---, scapethe camp and go into the quest themselves.
“The sea ofMonsters” was in my opinion a better book than the first one. It was really funand full of adventures. I think I would have enjoyed it far more if I had readit as a child, but in my opinion it was worth the reading even as an adult.
I would reallyrecommend this book to anyone who likes adventure and Greek mythology, since Ithink that last one is one of the main attractions for me in this series.

October Wrap Up - November TBR

Hello again everyone, Today starts a new month and that means that it is time to wrap up the previous month and set this month's TBR. Last month I set an ambitious TBR which I was unable to complete entirely, but I did manage to get a lot read which makes me kind of happy. As I also said on the previous month's post I was going to center this past month's TBR on the "Sweep/ Wicca" series by Cate Tiernan, and that is what I did. I managed to finish the sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, and get thought half of the eleventh. I have enjoyed most of this books, however the last two, Seeker and Origins, change the point of view and I have not been able to click with them as I was able to so with the other ones. As for the November TBR, I want to still finish this series, reading the twelfth, thirteenth, fourteenth and sixteenth books in the series, Eclipse, Reckoning, Full Circle and Night Child. Appart from that, I want to keep finishing s...
